Neighbourhood walk

Took a spontaneous walk through a neighbourhood Ruelle Vert on the way back home from the library last weekend and took some snapshots (The Ruelle Verte is a municipal initiative to green and make generally more attractive the many alleyways in the city).

Hello kitty!

Nasturtium

Elephant Ear

An elephant ear of some kind. The plant sent out long runners all over the place. It also had what I am guessing are seed pods that gradually filled with some mucilaginous goo as they ripened. I touched one lightly and it fell right off the plant.

Helenium

Leaving the Ruelle Verte

I also passed by Laloux, a French bistro with great food and some nice flower boxes.

  1. I can help with identifying a few of your plant questions. The yellow-flowered daisy like one is Helenium, a perennial; the red one with black-blue berries IS indeed lantana; and the one with the little lavender flowers and green-gold foliage is Bacopa/Sutera, looks like 'Copia Golden Leaves' but I can't be sure if the foliage is variegated or not.
